I love this quote - "You might be poor, your shoes might be broken, but your mind is a palace."
- Frank McCourt, Angela's Ashes
Some of the incredible things seen and heard I have recently stored in my mind, my palace of treasure . . .
ARTA Hip Hop Journey: 50 years of Kulture - Leeds City Museum
Educated Vandals, Street Art Exhibition, York
Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands. - Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris. This was simply astonishing. I spent three and half-hours just with the paintings; they were magical, captivating and dazzled.
Basquiat Soundtracks - The Philharmonie de Paris. This was even more astonishing! I visited this exhibition twice, the second time at the last entry to avoid the crowds. Being old enough to remember punk and the new wave stuff that followed it, this exhibition resonated and fed both eyes and ears. Late seventies and early eighties, what an incredibly fertile period that was.
Ron Mueck - Fondation Cartier, Paris.
